I've been taking computers apart and tinkering with software for as long as I can remember. Customizing Android interfaces led to writing scripts, automating everyday tasks, building applications, and running my own servers.
The common thread is curiosity, usually with a little frustration mixed in. I like finding out what technology can do beyond the limits it comes with. Some limits protect security and privacy; others just get in the way.
That curiosity drew me to Linux and open-source software. I started by building tools for myself, then became interested in how whole systems fit together. These days, I develop software and automate infrastructure.
I believe technology should adapt to the people using it, not the other way around.
Sometimes that means writing custom software. Other times, an existing tool needs a better setup, or two systems need a way to talk to each other.
One recent project is the artist's website I built with my mom. It brings her artwork and events together, with a simple way for her to keep the content up to date.
I also contribute to OpenStreetMap, especially around transportation and the built environment. I'm interested in how better information can make it easier to get around.
Away from the keyboard, I enjoy climbing, science, music, and spending time with my dog, Jessa.

Stuerman Systems grew out of years of solving my own technology problems and helping people close to me. I want to bring that same practical help to small businesses.
Business owners have enough to worry about without becoming IT specialists. Technology should fit the way they work, costs should be clear, and help should be available when something goes wrong.
I offer websites, business applications, technical support, and ongoing care around Boulder, Denver, and Colorado's Front Range. My approach is straightforward: understand the problem, find a sensible solution, and explain it clearly. You'll work directly with me.
